Biotique Bio Honey Gel Foaming Face Wash - Review

August 12, 2015

Have you used the Biotique Honey Gel face wash that used to come in a bottle? I have used and repurchased that one countless number of times because I obviously loved it! Did I tell you that even though I hate honey in foodstuff, I absolutely enjoy it in skincare? Strange, but true!

So when Biotique introduced this tube one, I was not sure if it was exactly the same. But one fine day, when my bottle got over and I could not find a new one in any store,;I had to get this, consoling myself that it was the same product in new packaging. So, was it the same or did I find it different. Let us see....

P.S.- Before this, Biotique also had another face wash with the same name, Bio Honey Gel, that used to come in a bottle. I thought they were just the same with a slight difference - this one is called 'face wash' while the bottle one is called a 'face cleanser'. But apparently, there are some ingredients exclusive to each.
Tube: Has 'Neem' and 'Ananas'
Bottle: Has 'Chhoti Duddhi'

My Experience

I love how this face wash smells - it makes me feel so happy! It has a runny consistency. I need a pea-sized amount for the face. It is soap-free but has 'ritha' which has natural cleansing properties; so it lathers really well. It has a very light honey color. Surprisingly, honey is not the main ingredient.

It cleans my face really well without making it more dry. So that is good news for dry skin like mine. With regular usage, I find that my skin is brighter and better. This is one of the few face washes that have benefitted me. More than the honey factor, it was the soap-free part that attracted me to the honey face wash by Biotique, be it the bottle or tube.

I somehow feel that the bottled honey face wash was slightly thicker than this tube one and was much more effective in making skin brighter and lighter with continuous, regular usage. Sounds funny, I know - a face wash that can lighten skin; but I feel it does do that; well atleast, as much possible by a good face wash.

I have not tried removing makeup with this (I follow a 2-step makeup removing procedure where I use this oil first and then an exfoliating face wash). It may be mild for that but you can try and see.

I used this on Junior too and it was perfectly fine. Psst... he likes the smell too.!

    Overall Impression

Even though this tube one is almost similar to the bottled version, I still feel that the bottle one was slightly better in terms of effects and consistency. Maybe a psychological thing. So I will try getting the bottle next time to confirm my observation. If not, then surely this one. Highly recommended!
