My (First) September Vellvette Box

I had placed an order for the September (and also my first) Vellvette box a week ago and received it today by Aramex courier. In my excitement, I ran and got the scissors and madly tore away all the outer packaging
. And what do I see? A black box tied with a pink ribbon! So far, so good. Now let us see what I actually got....Keep Reading...
There are 4 products in there:
- Clinique Long Last Glosswear and Different Lipstick Duo
- Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream (5ml). Full size available here

First Impression
I did get a good deal for the money spent (INR 399). However, the products are not to my liking 
. I did not like the lipstick shade and I hardly use lipglosses. The Clarins cream is an early-wrinkle correction cream. I do not have any early wrinkles to test this upon. But as Julia Roberts (or was it Susan Sarandon???) said in my favourite film, 'Stepmom', "Never say never"; so I shall go and have a close look at the mirror to see if there are any 
. That said, I do enjoy using Ponds Age Miracle stuff - reasonable and also improves skin texture.

I need to use the C&E hand cream on a regular basis to comment on its worth. What I did like, however, was the bonus product, the Jesus Del Pozo EDT. Smells nice

The Vellvette company has provided gift coupons wherein one can buy the same products in full size, from their website, at discounted rates.
Overall Impression
The Good - It is definitely value for money. Also, you get to try 3 different products without burning a hole in your pocket. And if you happen to like any particular product, then the Vellvette company provides gift coupons so that you can purchase those items at a discounted rate from their website. These boxes are also good for those who are still figuring out what suits them, or for those who like trying out new stuff, or just for fun!!!
The Bad - Inspite of filling out a questionnaire, you may only get close to what you want. I think only you know yourself best, and not anybody else.
The Ugly - Nothing really.... but would it not be great if we could select the items ourselves from the catalogue and then they send only those in trial sizes?? And for the surprise element, they can send the stuff from the same list in random order and that should surprise me enough, I think!!!
Also, I wish we had an all-makeup box or an all-perfume box for all the makeup/fragrance obsessed girls out there! That's it for now.

i usually never ever use glosses and that frosted lipcolor is never going to suit me and it is too light, esp since i mentioned that i like dark colors... dont care much for wrinkle-specific creams or hand creams either.... like the EDT... good for fun though and also for the high-end brands... u can decide whether to splurge now or not on them... :)

DeleteThis isn't bad at least in terms of sizes for Rs. 399! I had a terrible experience with the Blisscovered box when they were doing those earlier in the year, crappy products from so-so brands for about twice the price as this once. I might actually try this one out now! Thanks for the post. :)
