Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer Proof Liquid Lipstick in 405 - Review | Swatch | Lotd
May 13, 2016
After the lip-crayon trend in India, we are now getting hit with liquid lip colors... with each brand slowly coming up with their own version. As for me, I am eagerly waiting to experience the variety that will be offered to us!
Last year, Chambor launched their Extreme Matte Long Wear Lip Colour, a wonderful range of slim lip crayons. This year, the brand has come up with the Extreme Wear Transfer Proof Liquid Lipstick range with a collection of 18 beautiful shades for a variety of Indian skin tones. I must say that 18 shades in a liquid lipstick is quite an impressive number for an Indian brand. Let us get on with the review...

Packaging of Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer Proof Liquid Lipstick
The Chambor Liquid Lipstick comes in a transparent tube with black screw-on cap. There is an outer paper carton with all the product and price details. The applicator is decent although I wish it was flatter or slanted. The transparent tube helps you to see both the color and quantity inside. Compact and travel-friendly packaging!

Shade
There are a total of 18 stunning shades suitable for a range of Indian skin tones, and this is where the brand deserves appreciation. Coming to this particular shade, on my dusky complexion, 405 is sometimes a plummy brown while at other times, it is a peachy brown. One of the darkest shades in this range, this color would suit all skin tones and especially dusky girls.

My Experience with Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer Proof Liquid Lipstick
The Chambor liquid lipstick smells sweet like a Bourbon biscuit. The cap rotates nicely and sits tight; so no worries there. Price-wise, I think Chambor should have priced it lower because this brand hardly runs any offers or discounts either online or in stores.
The formula is more like a lip cream and reminds me of the Diana of London 2000 Kisses Wonderful Lipstick that I reviewed a long while ago, on the blog. I observed some fine shimmer in the hand-swatch specifically under white light but it fortunately does not show on lips.
This liquid lipstick starts off as a cream-finish matte but after it sets, it feels more like a powder matte. By the way, it takes a few minutes to set; so make use of that time to finger-spread it evenly. Once set, it does not transfer or smudge!
Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer Proof Liquid Lipstick Review |
Prior exfoliation and moisturization of lips are necessary especially since it is a long-staying formula, and you don't want it looking tacky. That said, this is still a very comfortable matte liquid lipstick to wear! I remember having a Revlon long-stay liquid lipstick - the one with a clear topcoat - ages ago, that felt exactly like plaster. This Chambor one thankfully does not feel like plaster!
Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer Proof Liquid Lipstick Shade 405 Applicator |
This is a long-lasting lipstick that will last you 5-6 hours. With eating or drinking, it evenly fades from the usual corners and inner parts of the mouth. After a while, it does start to feel dry and sit in lip-lines at which time, I like to dab some lip-balm mainly over the inner lip areas; this also prolongs the comfort and color.
As already mentioned, this particular shade 405 sometimes comes across as a plummy brown on my lips and sometimes a peachy brown. The color looks lighter in the hand-swatch and LOTD pictures, while it is actually darker in person. Nevertheless a gorgeous shade!

Overall Impression of Chambor Extreme Wear Transfer Proof Liquid Lipstick
All said and done, if you have 845 bucks to spare right now, then this is what you should be getting! Comfortable, excellent pigmentation and long-staying formula - it is worth its price especially when you consider the other options in this price bracket in India. This is also better than the Chambor Extreme Matte Long Wear Lip Colour that retails at exactly the same price point. However, if you want to try something similar at a slightly lesser price tag, I would highly recommend the Diana of London 2000 Kisses Wonderful Lipstick. These two are seriously the best in the liquid lip color category in India so far!!
Cafe-o-Meter Rating: 4.9/5
P.S. - I have an evil eye on Shade 404, a pretty mauve; but I am confused if it will suit me! Do let me know if you have already picked any color from this range or are planning to!
