Kumkumadi has been a rage in recent times - over the blogging world, to be specific. I remember when I was in college, my mother got me a few horrible-looking bottles of Kottakkal Kumkumadi Thailam from Kerala (for those interested: Kerala-native, Bombay-born and brought up, Bangalore-currently settled). She mentioned that it was expensive which actually meant that I was supposed to use it.
And I did use it... for a few days! And then I stopped! Obviously, I never told my mother! At that age, I guess I was not interested so much in skin care as I was in makeup. A conversation from the same movie between Mumble (the tap-dancing penguin) and his dad, Memphis, soon after Mumble hatched from his egg:
Memphis: Whatcha doin' there, boy?
Baby Mumble: [tap dancing] I'm happy, Pa!
