Iraya Vanilla & Whole Milk Lip Balm - Review
July 27, 2015
It is really difficult to find natural and effective makeup products. So atleast when it comes to skincare, I try my best to stick to natural products. Though I do pick up stuff with chemicals too since it cannot be completely avoided nowadays, a natural and chemical-free ingredient list definitely attracts me like nothing else can. And if you are like me, you are going to love this cute and chubby lip-balm from Iraya...

My Experience
Let me start with the packaging. The Iraya lip-balm tub is so cute and chubby that you want to keep looking at it. I use this mostly at home with clean fingers; so the tub packaging does not trouble me. However, the narrow mouth of the tub can be bothersome when the lip-balm is in the finishing stages. That said, I still love it!
It is completely light and non-sticky, and nourishes your lips. My lips feel softer, look healthier and less dark these days.
And it smells amazing! Exactly like vanilla and milk, as the name suggests. Very spa-like, very essential-oil like! Very feel-good, very feel-happy types!!!
The texture appears to be a little thick in the tub, but it is not. Whitish in color, it melts on your lips and looks like a clear lip-gloss. Those of you who use just a clear lip-gloss can easily just use this instead, to get both gloss and lip-care benefits. Does not leave any white cast too. It should ideally be named as a lip-butter!

Price-wise too, it is not high. The Himalaya lip butter which is also 100% natural and which I love, retails for INR 109 for 10gms. Iraya is INR 245 for 20gms. So, almost the same!
It does taste of vanilla and milk. I would prefer if it did not have a taste to it. But it does not stay long, so it is okay. The lip-balm however lasts long on your lips.
Pros
- Nourishes lips, making them feel softer and look healthier
- Smells heavenly
- Good staying power
- Light and Non-sticky
- 100% Natural
- 100% Vegetarian
- Never tested on animals
- No white cast
- Cute packaging
Cons
- Tub packaging and narrow mouth - so you can use it only at home. I did not want to list this as a con because I adore this tub. But unfortunately, this limits its usability. Maybe Iraya should have it in both tub and tube!
Overall Impression
A 100% natural lip-balm that nourishes your lips, makes them feel softer and look healthier, and smells heavenly too. I cannot ask for more! Definitely recommended!!!
