July 22, 2015
You know, "Never say NEVER" is so so true!
Many many moons ago, all I had and knew to use were liquid eyeliners. So when the pencil liners came to India, I stuck to my faithful liquid liners, pretty sure I would never use the pencils ever.
Cut to the present, and all I have with me now are pencil eyeliners except for this Rimmel one and another from Maybelline. I thought I had almost forgotten to apply a liquid liner. So you never know....

My Experience
As already mentioned, I had almost forgotten to apply a liquid liner. But when I saw the deep rich-brown swatches of this online, I just had to get it. The body of the liner is opaque; so you will not know when it is going to get over. The applicator is easy to use and grip, despite the fact that I was using one after a long time. You can draw thin or thick lines depending upon your expertise and need. However, over a period of time, I find that the tip of the applicator is not as fine as when it was new.
It applies as a glossy chocolate-brown but dries super matte into a deep, dark, rich brown. It takes a bit of time to dry though. But I am not sure if it is the product or just my impatience after having used pencils which do not need drying time. It can look black-brown too under different lighting.
The Exaggerate Eyeliner is not waterproof. It will stay put on your lids for a long time unless you rub or touch your eyes. It can fade after some hours though but that is mainly if you have applied just one coat. But no flaking for sure. More than one coat will stay just fine.
Does not make my eyes red or watery. I think it should suit sensitive eyes too.
It has excellent color pay-off and goes opaque in a single coat. You can also build the colour for intensity and to increase the staying power. But more coats means more drying time.
In the below pictures, I have used the Rimmel eyeliner (single coat) on the upper lash-line only.
Pros
- Intense pigmentation
- Pure matte and gorgeous deep rich-brown color
- Stays long with more-than-one coat
- Easy-to-use applicator
- Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested
Cons
- Not water-proof
- Should suit even sensitive eyes
- Takes a bit of time to dry completely
- Availability in India
Overall Impression
I love the Exaggerate eyeliner for its color and opacity. I love the fact that it is a pure matte and an intense, deep shade of brown. I apply more than one coat and I love how it stays put on my lids for a long time. In spite of not being waterproof, I am surprised that I still really love it. And.... I am not exaggerating!!! Get your hands on this one if you can.
