So you have a party to attend. You prep, prime and apply makeup on your face, do your hair and wear that gorgeous outfit, and accessories. You step out of your home as Cinderella but reach the venue as....wait..... the Joker in Batman?? Whyy, what happenedd??? Well, maybe... you did not use a good makeup fixing spray!
A makeup fixing/setting spray is supposed to be the last step in your makeup routine. It sets your makeup and keeps it in place fresh and longer by creating an invisible layer/barrier on your face. This is my second product from the Makeup Revolution London brand (first one was the serum-and-primer reviewed here). I have never used a makeup fixing/setting spray before. So when I saw this product, curiosity got the better of me and I picked it up right away. Read on to know if this proved to be a good choice...
Summer is slowly disappearing here in Bangalore with occasional rain and cloudy days taking its place. But you know how summer can zap your energy and leave you tired and worn out. These are the times when even a glass of chilled water seems like the most delicious drink in the whole world. So also, a spritz of heavenly-smelling mist holds the power to lift up your spirit, and refresh your body and mind like nothing else can.
Iraya has two body mists, the Himalayan Floral (the one being reviewed), and the Pomegranate and Mint one. But before reading the review, let us see what a body mist is? A body mist is supposed to be light, subtle, airy and fresh unlike a perfume that tends to be more heavy. It should ideally be used right after a shower-and-towel-dry as the open pores retain the scent longer. So how does the Iraya body mist fare? Let us find out...
Makeup Revolution London
Review, Swatch - Makeup Revolution London Defence Anti Bacterial Serum and Primer
June 12, 2015
Let us play a word-association game...
You say, Makeup Revolution London...
I say..... Quality and Affordability!!!
Well, those are two words that strike me when I think of this particular brand after using 3 MUR products.
Other than their already existing makeup range, Makeup Revolution London has now brought out their very own skincare range. As of now, there are only 2 products, I think.
Attack: Anti Bacterial Face Wash
Defence: Anti Bacterial Serum and Primer (the product being reviewed)
So... is it a serum? Or a primer? Or both? Let us find out...
When the whole maddening crowd heads to the hills and cooler climes, the few sane ones, like us, hit the sunny beaches. Orrr..... that is atleast what you do when your work-obsessed husband (who thinks his company would shut down or go bankrupt without him) forgets to plan a holiday trip in advance.
Mr. B decided looong back that he would keep all holiday destinations, travel-related details and discussions far, far away from me. Reason being, I plan way too much and shop likewise too, before each trip.
According to him, I have a 'What-If' bag 'hidden' somewhere along with my regular baggage, that contains things I would need in case there is an earthquake, volcanic eruption, tsunami, flood, or when a prehistoric dinosaur chases us to a treetop. For all these reasons, he keeps a watchful eye on my packing and planning!!!
Let us start with the trip now......
Hello Everyone...
It has been some time since I last blogged and interacted with you, my lovely readers. What started as a small break ended up as a long hibernation and I am really sorry for that.
When I started 'Indian Beauty Cafe', I never wanted to tell anyone I know, about my blog. Mr. B was greatly confused as to why anyone would start a blog and be secretive about it. However, I had my own reasons - I wanted to know if anyone would read what I write. I wanted to know the response I would get, if any.
Soon after, readers appreciated and acknowledged my work. And it felt really good. I saw giveaways happening on other blogs but did not hold any on mine for 2 reasons - one, I had no idea how to go about it and it seemed like a daunting task; two, I still wanted to ensure that my readers were following me for my work and not some fancy prize.
I was and am still happy with whatever Indian Beauty Café has achieved so far with whatever little body of work I have done.
However, just like a good film has to 'reach' its audience and needs to be promoted to do so; I realized - so does my blog. Indian Beauty Café has to reach a wider audience.
A big thank you to all the existing readers whose support I received in different ways. You have been great.
I now look forward to expand my readership following and reach out to many more readers like you, who will show their support and love for this blog as each of you already have.
I am planning to hold a giveaway soon and hope to get your support for the same.
Meanwhile, Junior has grown up a bit and is now 7 1/2 years old. He is a bit more sensible now. I am not sure whether I am happy or sad that his stupidities are coming down. So that means, I may not write about the Just for Laughs section anymore. I know a lot of you really enjoyed reading it, but let's see how it goes.
That is all for now. Keep reading Indian Beauty Café. And hope to see you more often :)
"A penguin without a heart song is hardly a penguin at all!" Ring a bell? Yes, it is from the very cute movie 'Happy Feet', a story about a penguin who was different from others of his own kind; a penguin who could not sing like the other penguins but who could dance (tap-dance, rather) really well.
A conversation from the same movie between Mumble (the tap-dancing penguin) and his dad, Memphis, soon after Mumble hatched from his egg:
Memphis: Whatcha doin' there, boy?
Baby Mumble: [tap dancing] I'm happy, Pa!
Memphis: Whatcha doin' with your feet?
Baby Mumble: [looks down] They're happy, too!
Okay, so I am not reviewing the movie, in case you were wondering
. But there are two reasons for bringing it up. The first reason - Look at the Olay Total Effects bottle... Does it not look like a penguin? Especially the pump... does it not look like a penguin's head??
The second reason - Well, there is not much difference right now between Junior and Baby Mumble!! We are off to a riverside resort tomorrow; and he is already dancing, hopping, jumping and what not, around the whole house.
Before starting with the review, I would to like to mention that this review is based on my 7-day experience of using the Olay Total Effects 7 in One Cream + Serum Duo. Okay, now let me dive straight in...
